JHADC CEM reminded of pending demands

SHILLONG, May 15: The Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) CEM Thombor Shiwat was on Wednesday reminded of the pending demand for recognition to the clans under the jurisdiction of the Council, as per the 6th Schedule.
The reminder was sent by a resident of Iawmusiang, Jowai Khroo L Pariat.
It may be mentioned that Parait had also submitted a letter, demanding the same on November 11, 2022.
The other demands include recognition to clans and titles derived from the mother and not from the father’s mother, recognition to the leaders of the Dorbar Kur and Seng Kur and recognition to the Dorbar Shnong, upkeep of the Kupli, Myntdu, Myntang, Umngot, and other rivers and water sources, and power supply to the public.
