SHILLONG, June 16: The State BJP on Sunday stated that it is unfair on the part of its coalition partner — NPP — to blame the former for its loss in the recently-concluded Lok Sabha polls and maintained that it will continue to raise its voice against corruption with or without the NPP.
“Even our coalition partner is accusing us that they lost because of the BJP. It is not fair,” BJP vice president and Tura MDC, Bernard Marak said.
“All these years, some of these leaders have been creating communal rift; they are trying to show NPP as the better party compared to the BJP whereas they are taking all the advantages from the BJP like the schemes,” Marak claimed.
He stated that most of the schemes coming from the Centre have been renamed in the state like Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna, which people here know as low cost housing and PM Kisan Samman Nidhi which the NPP has renamed as the farmers’ card.
“The schemes coming from the Centre are not reaching the beneficiaries. Why are they renaming these flagship programmes or schemes? Is it not misleading the public?” he questioned.
Asserting that BJP will stand against corruption, he said “Even if they are our alliance, we will be the first to point it out of these schemes do not reach the beneficiaries.”
He reiterated that the BJP will continue to raise its voice against corruption irrespective of whether the alliance with the NPP continues of ends.
