The consignment was meant to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

“The apprehended smuggler along with seized items has been handed over to the nearest police station for further legal action,” a statement issued by the public relations officer, Guwahati Frontier, here said on Wednesday.

In other operations, based on reliable intelligence inputs, BSF troops from the 14, 90 and 138 battalions foiled attempts to smuggle contraband items along the India-Bangladesh International border in Cooch Behar (West Bengal).
