Crocodile’s day out amid rain
Ratnagiri, July 1: The video of an 8-foot-long crocodile strolling on a rain-swept road in a coastal Maharashtra town has gone viral on social media. The video was shot by an autorickshaw driver in Chinchnaka area of Chiplun town in Ratnagiri district amid a steady downpour on Sunday, an official said. A few other vehicles are also seen in the video, which shows an autorickshaw trying tail the crocodile with its headlight on. The crocodile likely ventured into the town from Shiv or Vashishti rivers nearby, the official said. Many onlookers also shot videos of the crocodile and shared it on social media. (PTI)

Free renal, liver transplants
upto Rs 3 lakh
Chandigarh, July 1: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved an initiative that will provide free renal and liver transplantation services up to Rs 3 lakh for eligible beneficiaries under the Mukhya Mantri Muft Ilaj Yojana. The chief minister has also sanctioned the creation of a specialized fixed renal and liver transplant package of Rs 3 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana – Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY-AB) scheme, according to an official statement. Giving further details, Health Minister Kamal Gupta on Monday said the BJP government in the state is committed to healthcare reform and patient welfare. (PTI)

Bodies of farmer, his wife, 3 children found
Alirajpur/Bhopal, July 1: The bodies of a farmer, his wife, and three children were found in their house in a village in Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday, police said. Prima facie, it is a case of suicide, an official said. The bodies of the farmer, his wife and their sons were found hanging next to each other from the ceiling of their kuchha house with rope, while the body of their daughter, was found lying on the floor, an official said. A dog squad and a forensic team have reached the spot and collected fingerprints. A forensic team from Indore is also reaching the spot, police said, adding that the postmortem of bodies is videographed. (PTI)

Doctor chops off boyfriend’s private part
Patna, July 1: A female doctor allegedly chopped off the private part of her boyfriend in Bihar’s Saran district on Monday. Police have arrested the doctor under the relevant sections of attempt to murder. The victim, a councillor of Ward No. 12 in Madhaura block, has been admitted to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for treatment. The accused claimed that she had an affair with the victim for the last five years but he was refusing to marry her. She somehow convinced him for a registered marriage in court. Accordingly, she reached the court for the marriage but the victim did not turn up. After this, she called the victim to her house, and when he reached there, she allegedly chopped off his private part. (PTI)
