Coordination meeting of all agencies talks border management

SHILLONG, July 18: A coordination meeting of all agencies including the BSF, police and government departments on issues related to border management along Indo-Bangladesh border was held at BOP Ghumaghat on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills, T Lyngwa.
The issues taken up at the meeting include smuggling of sugar and other items, and the efforts by all agencies to curb these activities; functioning issues of the Border Haat; development of infrastructure at the Border Haat and repair of connecting roads on the border; implementation of Section 144 CrPC along the border; all stakeholders assured their commitment to coordinate and cooperate to address and mitigate the issues related to border management effectively.
Representatives of the various agencies which attended the meeting include Rajiv Kumar, Commandant, 193 Bn BSF, GD Kharwanlang, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Wes Khasi Hills, L Kynjing, ADC, Ranikor, R Marwein, BDO of Ranikor, D Kyndiah, Executive Engineer, PWD, Ranikor, P Langstein, Superintendent, Customs, CH Marak, Circle Inspector, Ranikor, Jasmeet Singh, AC , Coy Commander BSF.
