SHILLONG, July 20: With the talks between Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and the KSU leaders on the labourers’ issue failing on Friday, BJP spokesperson and former cop, Mariahom Kharkrang on Saturday said people of the state are eagerly waiting to see what action the state government will take if pressure groups continue to check the documents of migrant workers since the chief minister had declared such actions as illegal.
According to Kharkrang, registration of a case will not prevent such illegalities as the acts have already been committed.
“What is necessary is preventive action to ensure such illegality does not continue,” Kharkrang said.
