Yet another miner dies in East Jaintia Hills

SHILLONG: There seemed to be no end to loss of lives in the coal mine in East Jaintia Hills District, as one person identified as Emja Wari died on the spot after he fell into a coal pit at Warapara, Khliehriat on December 18 at 11 am.
Last week, one labourer died on the spot when a coal mine collapsed in the same district and prior to that, five miners had been crushed to death when the cables of a crane snapped midway hurling them down to their deaths on December 6.
