2-month comprehensive healthcare for WJH locals

JOWAI, Aug 3: An integrated health camp was launched on Friday in West Jaintia Hills with an aim to provide comprehensive healthcare services over a two-month period across the entire district.
The campaign, which will feature 17 static camps and outreach services covering 150 to 200 villages, is a joint initiative of District Medical & Health Officer, Jowai, Office of the West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner, Meghalaya Aids Control Society, Shillong, and other related departments.
During the campaign, beneficiaries will receive a wide range of services including general health checkups, testing and treatment for tuberculosis (TB) and HIV, testing for Hepatitis B and C with relevant treatment, MHIS registration, and house-to-house visits.
The inaugural event was attended by president of Synjuk Ki Waheh Shnong Ri Jaintia, A Lipon, as the chief guest, who was accompanied by Waheh Chnong Ladthadlaboh A. Shullai and other dignitaries from the Health Department.
During the programme,
Lipon expressed his appreciation for the campaign, emphasising the importance of health for everyone. He highlighted the campaign as a valuable opportunity and commended the efforts of the health workers and volunteers, and encouraged the public to actively engage with the campaign activities and take advantage of the health facilities being brought to their doorstep by the Health Department.
