IIM Shillong to help Arunachal devp leadership at Panchayati Raj level

SHILLONG, Aug 5: Adding another tie-up to its long list of collaborations, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (SIRD&PR), Arunachal Pradesh, to collaborate on a transformative initiative aimed at enhancing leadership and managerial capacities within the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in Arunachal.
The MoU was signed by Director of IIM Shillong, Prof DP Goyal, and Secretary of Panchayati Raj-cum-President Executive Council, SIRD&PR, Dr Sonal Swaroop.
The partnership marked a vital step towards strengthening the governance and operational efficiency of rural development and Panchayati Raj functions in the region.
The MoU aims to outline the terms for implementing a comprehensive management/leadership capacity building programme, which is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of elected representatives, officials, and functionaries of PRIs across Arunachal Pradesh.
The initiative aims to equip community leaders with advanced leadership and managerial skills, fostering effective resource utilisation and improved management of Panchayat affairs.
