SHILLONG, Aug 9: The all-important meeting between the Harijan Panchayat Committee (HPC) and the state government will be held on Saturday.
In June, the HPC had sought two months’ time from the state government to elect a new president for further discussion on relocation of residents. The request came following the death of their then president.
In the last meeting, the state government had asserted that one more meeting is required to resolve the issue pertaining to the relocation of the settlers from the colony.
