The Special SP also informed in response to an RTI question raised by CSWO President   Agnes Kharshiing  that after an inquiry it was found that at present the 20 girls are staying at a children’s home run by an NGO called Narendra Nambikhai Natchathiram” at Hosur, Tamil Nadu under the supervision of the Child Welfare Committee of Krishnagiri district.
The repatriation of the 20 minors to Meghalaya is sub judice before the High Court of Madras and the next hearing on the issue has been fixed on January 2.
It may be mentioned that the Social Welfare department had pointed fingers on the Lei Synshar Cultural Society for taking the girls to Tamil Nadu without seeking necessary clearance from the State Child Welfare Committee.
