Shillong MP felicitates NEHU toppers from city college

SHILLONG, Sep 2: Lok Sabha member Ricky AJ Syngkon on Monday felicitated the students of Sankardev College who made it to the merit list of the undergraduate examinations conducted by the North-Eastern Hill University.
According to a statement here, Syngkon was part of a programme conducted by the Sankardev College to commemorate its 62nd Foundation Day.
On the occasion, the college also organised Graduation Day for the outgoing students.
Syngkon, who was the chief guest, presented the Academic Award of Excellence to Badaker Nongneng Daloi, Basynran Wanshong, Bansharai Pius Kharmawshun for securing first, third and fifth positions respectively in Khasi, and Barrymore Nongsiej for securing fourth position in Chemistry.
A total of 153 students, who recently graduated in Bachelor of Arts and Science Examinations, were also presented with mementoes.
In his address, the MP congratulated and encouraged the students to work hard and inculcate the values of perseverance and dedication, and be good human beings.
He also lauded the college for its efforts in taking up many important and innovative initiatives, both qualitative and quantitative.
On the occasion, Syngkon also released research publications by the Departments of Political Science titled ‘Meghalaya Assembly Elections 2023: Issues, Agendas and Commitments of Political Parties’ and of the Department of Khasi, namely ‘Ka Wadbniah Halor ki Jingrwai Khasi kiba Kren Shaphangka Mei Mariang bad ka Sawdong Sawkun: Ka Sainpyrkhat U Khasi kabaIasnoh bad ka Mariang bad kumno ban Pynneh Pynsah ne Tyngkaiiaka’.
On the occasion, a video was also presented for the gathering, which showcased the journey of the college, its history since its inception, the milestones, the varied activities conducted, and achievements, both academic and non-academic.
