SHILLONG, Sep 9: International pop music star Akon is set to headline this year’s Cherry Blossom Festival in Shillong slated for November 16.
This will be Akon’s first public performance in India and is part of his ‘Superfan Tour,’ which includes stops in multiple Asian countries.
The festival, organised by Rockski EMG in collaboration with Akon’s Konvict Touring, will also feature other big acts like Boney M and DJ R3HAB, each headlining on different days. Boney M’s performance is especially significant as it is part of their farewell tour, featuring founding member Maizie Williams.
The Cherry Blossom Festival, known for attracting music fans from across the Northeast and India, has previously hosted artists like Ne-Yo and Ronan Keating.
