SHILLONG, Sep 22: Asserting that threats and intimidation never work, the UDP has urged the government to find an amicable solution to the impasse between the Assam and Meghalaya transport associations.
“Threats and intimidation will not resolve the issues in question. The concerns flagged by All Khasi Meghalaya Tourist Taxi Association and reactions from the transport associations of Assam will only lead to inconveniences for both sides,” UDP general secretary Jemino Mawthoh said on Sunday.
Talking about the issue, Mawthoh said there is a need to prevent the animosity that may eventually cause hardships for everyone.
“There is a need to look at the problem from the point of view of a win-win situation for both sides. After all, the safety, security and conveniences of passengers and tourists needs to be ensured,” he added.
