Body found
Police, on September 19 evening, learnt that the body of an unknown male was found lying on the bench of the bus shed at Boucher Road opposite the War Memorial of 101 Army area. Accordingly, inquest and other legal formalities were observed and the body was shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong, for post-mortem examination. The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for identification and claim. The unidentified deceased is approximately 40-45 years of age, stands around 165 cm tall, is swarthy-complexioned, black haired, and has a thin build. He was wearing a light brown jacket, a black t-shirt with “HACKETT” printed on it, grey track suit, black muffler and black slippers.

Blood donation
A voluntary blood donation camp will be organised by the Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya State Branch 10 am onwards on Friday, on the society’s premises located in Howell Road Laban Red Cross Shillong.

New office
The Meghalaya State Dental Council (MSDC) inaugurated its new office located within the Directorate of Health Services, Room no. 312, Health Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, on Friday. The office was inaugurated by Dr FV Kharshiing, DHS (MI), who was the chief guest of the function. Dental surgeons are required to register with the MSDC, especially for job applications under the state government, a statement issued here informed.

A meeting of the All Garo Hills Trained Electricians’ Association was held in South West Garo Hills on Monday, during which its new unit for Ampati was constituted with Chembirth B Marak as president, Bukul Hajong as vice president, Saylendro Ch Marak as general secretary, Lebithson Ch MaraK as joint secretary, among others.
