Condolence
Assembly Speaker Thomas A Sangma has conveyed his condolences over the demise of former legislator Noverfield N Marak, who represented North Tura constituency from 2013 to 2017. Also, Commissioner and Secretary Dr Andrew Simons said grief on behalf of the Assembly Secretariat. “Marak will be remembered for his hard work and dedication to serve the people,” they said. At this time of bereavement, they have offered their deepest condolences to the family members and pray to the Almighty for bestowing strength to bear this irreparable loss.

Corrigendum
This is to clarify that in The Shillong Times report dated October 4th, regarding the waning fervour of Puja celebrations in the city, the mention of “Rilbong Puja” was incorrect. The reference should have been to the “Butcher Lane Puja” held in the Cantonment area. The error is regretted.
