City girl selected for NCC Mount Everest expedition

SHILLONG, Oct 8: In what can be deemed a moment of pride for Meghalaya, Rifiness Warjri, a Shillong-based girl, has been selected to participate in the prestigious NCC Mount Everest Expedition 2025.
Warjri, a cadet of the 61 Meghalaya Girls Battalion NCC under the NCC Group Headquarters, Shillong, is also a student of St. Anthony’s College.
She recently achieved the impressive feat of summiting Mount Abi Gamin and stands as the only cadet selected from all seven Northeastern states for this expedition.
Her feat is as an inspiration to the youths of the Northeast, showcasing the resilience and potential of young talents from the region.
