Govt summons docs who failed to serve state

SHILLONG, Oct 15: The Health Department has directed doctors who have not yet reported to the state government after completing their MBBS and postgraduate courses sponsored by the government to report to the Office of the DHS (MI) within a period of 30 days.
The notice issued by the DHS (MI) said that it has come to the notice of the department that several doctors who have completed their courses under government sponsorship have not yet reported to the government on successful completion of their courses to honour the bond agreement and serve in any rural part of the state for a minimum period of five years.
It said that show cause notices will be issued to doctors who fail to report within 30 days for violation of conditions of the bond executed with the government.
