Symposium
As part of the Reminiscing Pinewood event, a symposium will be organised at 3 pm on December 23 in the old billiards room of Pinewood Hotel. The resource persons for the symposium include Parmarsan Thangkhiew, Danny Pariat, Janice Pariat, Bikika L. Tariang, Christine Z. Mylliemngap, William R. Marbaniang, Professor Sanjoy Hazarika and Desmond L. Kharmawphlang.

The Shillong Times first appeared as a tabloid weekly on 10th August 1945 under the editorship of Late Sudhindra Bhusan Chaudhuri. In 1958 it was converted to a Daily. Owing to financial constraints, within six months it reverted back to a weekly.
