CM inaugurates cultural complex

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma on Tuesday inaugurated the Multipurpose Cultural Complex (District Auditorium), Williamnagar amidst huge gathering.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Minister said that the Multipurpose Cultural Complex, which is dedicated to the people of East Garo hills District, will be a valuable asset especially for the youth of the district. The youngsters, he said, can use the complex as a platform to showcase their talent and also organize capacity building programmes in it.
Dr Sangma also said that if the youth are well equipped, the State has numerous job opportunities on offer.
Deborah C. Marak, Minister for Social Welfare while speaking on the occasion said that the inauguration of the Multi purpose Cultural Complex at Williamnagar is a long cherished dream of the people which will prove to be a boon for the youth of the District.
Earlier, the Chief Minister also released a documentary film on “Achik Dama” and distributed   100 Wangala drums to the local schools besides giving away books on Garo literature.
The award for the best Watershed Management Society was also presented on the occasion. Rongkon Watershed Management Society bagged the honour.
