SHILLONG, March 19: The Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) petitioned Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh for medical specialists in West Khasi Hills.
The shortage of medical experts in the district prompted the organization to seek the intervention of the health minister for medical specialists such as Orthopaedic Surgeons, gynaecologists, oncologists, and radiologists in West Khasi Hills.
‘Appointing specialist doctors would help the people as lack of proper medical facilities in the district, patients are compelled to travel to Shillong or Guwahati for treatment,’ the group said.
Meanwhile, the minister informed the group that advertisements for the recruitment of specialists in different hospitals have been floated.
