5-day IIM event for young NE entrepreneurs gets under way

SHILLONG, May 13: The IIM Shillong Foundation for Incubation and Entrepreneurship (IIMSFIE) has launched the third edition of the Summer School Bootcamp for Aspiring Young Entrepreneurs of Northeast India 2025 at the institute’s Shillong campus.
According to a statement issued here, the IIM programme will culminate on May 17.
This year, a total of 59 participants are representing all eight Northeastern states at the five-day event.
“This diverse cohort includes students, early-stage startup founders and aspiring entrepreneurs — all driven by a shared vision to innovate, lead and create sustainable impact in the region,” the statement said.
“The Bootcamp is being facilitated by a robust lineup of mentors, including early-stage startup founders from the Northeast, seasoned entrepreneurs and industry experts from across India, and esteemed faculty members from IIM Shillong. Together, they aim to provide participants with a rich blend of theoretical knowledge and practical insights,” the statement added.
During the inaugural programme, IIMSFIE Director, Prof Rohit Dwivedi, spoke on the immense potential of the Northeast and underscored the importance of youth-led innovation to address regional challenges.
On the other hand, Pro. Naliniprava Tripathy, Director (i/c) of IIM Shillong, inspired the participants with her keynote address, encouraging them to view challenges as opportunities.
