GUWAHATI, May 29: As part of its preparations for next year’s Assembly elections, the Assam BJP has decided to intensify its organisational campaign across the state, including Upper Assam, Lower Assam and Barak Valley.

District executives are set to participate in meetings from Friday to June 15 with the presence of 21 top state office-bearers.

Sources said the party, in cooperation with its NDA allies, has resolved to build an inclusive and prosperous state.

“With this vision, BJP Assam Pradesh’s 65 lakh dedicated karyakartas (party workers) are working tirelessly to strengthen the organisation from the grassroots level. Following the massive victory in the recently-concluded Gaon Panchayat and Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council elections, the party has begun reviewing its booth-level activities,” BJP spokesperson Subhash Dutta stated.

Out of the 29,000 booths, the BJP has succeeded in strengthening its organisation in over 26,000 booths.

“As part of the ongoing drive to further empower the 39 organisational districts of the state, including booth, shakti kendras, and mandal levels, the party has scheduled district executive meetings from May 30 to June 15,” Dutta said.

State-level leaders will guide and motivate the district-level executive members and karyakartas in their respective meetings, to ensure a more robust and dynamic organisational structure across Assam.

State BJP president Dilip Saikia will participate in the executive meetings in Sivasagar, Charaideo, Darrang, North Kamrup, Udalguri, Dima Hasao and Tamulpur districts. Party vice president Tapan Kumar Gogoi will be present in Majuli and Jorhat districts while general secretary Pallab Lochan Das will attend meetings in Sonitpur and Biswanath districts.

On the other hand, state in-charge Harish Dwivedi will attend meetings in Dhemaji, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia while national secretary and MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa will attend meetings in Golaghat, Kaliabor, and Hojai.

State general secretary (organisation) G.R. Ravindra Raju will participate in meetings in Nalbari, Baksa, Kokrajhar, Chirang and West Karbi Anglong districts.
