Denzel wins it for Mawkhar

SHILLONG: Denzel Andrew Kharchandi provided the winning goal for Mawkhar as they beat Mawryngkneng 1-0 in an U-14 Football Tournament match, organised by the Shillong Sports Association, at Second Ground, Polo, on Tuesday.

In a tough battle that saw little separating the talented young footballers, Kharchandi’s goal came in the 19th minute, which proved to be decisive.

Wednesday will see the last match of the group stage when Malki take on Mylliem at 4:00pm at Second Ground.

Meanwhile, in Monday’s fixture, Royal Wahingdoh defeated Umsohsun by a massive 13-0 with three players earning hat-tricks.

Goal-scorers: Rudolf Nongneng (4th, 14th and 18th minutes), Deibanrap Kharumnuid (6th, 9th, 59th), Remark Kharmalki (55th, 57th, 58th), Mebanrikupar Rynjah (40th, 41st), Rafael S Wanniang (20th) and Onxyson Buhroi (52nd).
