Condolence
Laban Sanatan Dharmasabha, Harisabha, has conveyed its profound grief over the demise of its member, Monotosh Chakravarty, on June 21. He was associated with the organisation for several decades and served in key roles and capacities. The organisation recalled Chakravarty as not only an accomplished academician but also a multifaceted personality whose contributions extended far beyond the classroom. “He was actively involved in various spheres of social life — ranging from sports, debate, and quiz competitions to numerous community development initiatives. His presence was marked by a rare blend of intellect, warmth, and humility that made him immensely popular among students, peers, and the broader community, transcending barriers of caste, religion, and background,” it said in a statement issued here.
Meanwhile, Laban Bengalee Boys Higher Secondary School held a condolence meeting on Monday in memory of Monotosh Chakravarty, president of the managing committee of the school.

Meeting
The general meeting of the Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Girls’ Higher Secondary School Past Pupils Association, Shillong, will be held at 1 pm on July 12 in the Lecture Hall of KJP Girls’ Higher Secondary School to deliberate over programmes of the association.
