Umsning road mishap leaves two injured

NONGPOH, June 29: Two individuals sustained serious injuries after a speeding Maruti Ignis overturned and crashed into a road divider along National Highway-6 at the Umsning Bypass on Sunday evening.
The vehicle, bearing registration number ML05W7020, was reportedly occupied by four friends and was being driven at high speed when the driver lost control, resulting in the accident.
Following the crash, two of the occupants fled the scene, while the driver and another passenger were left seriously injured.
Police personnel from Umsning Police Station arrived shortly after being informed, initiated an investigation and arranged for the injured victims to be transported to Umsning CHC for urgent medical attention.
