SHILLONG, July 25: A meeting of the Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC) was held on Thursday at the library of Kendriya Vidyalaya AFS Laitkor Peak, Shillong, with a focus on improving student facilities and the overall development of the school.
The meeting was chaired by Group Captain Arpit Kala, Chairman of the VMC and Station Commander of the Air Force Station, Laitkor Peak.
One of the key proposals appreciated during the session was the creation of a Toy Library for Balvatika and primary classes, along with the installation of interactive panels in all classrooms.
Several infrastructure-related items were also taken up for the upcoming academic session, including the condemnation of obsolete stores, procurement of new computers, purchase of covers and UPS units for the interactive panels, levelling of the school playground, and the development of a children’s park.
The meeting also reviewed the utilisation of PM SHRI scheme funds and noted pending work, such as the repair of colony roads. Approval for initiating the proposed works was granted by the Chairman.
The VMC members who were present included the principal of KV AFS Laitkor Peak, Mohd. Ajahrauddin; Squadron Leader Siddharth Gupta; Flight Lieutenant A. Prashantha; Shaju Achandy, Principal of Assam Rifles Public School; Dalimi Baruah, Principal of Army Public School; Sergeant Gaurav Tyagi; and Shashanka Sekhar Sarma.
