SHILLONG: The Senior Advocate of Meghalaya High Court resigned from the post of standing counsel of KHADC.

V G K Kynta resigned following convention and due to the new dispensation in KHADC.

When contacted, Kynta did not specify the reason, but hinted that as per convention one should step down after a new dispensation comes to power unless requested otherwise.

Kynta had represented KHADC in several landmark cases and an example is the case related to delimitation of district council constituencies.

Sources said that a new standing counsel for KHADC has already been appointed.
