Dongmihsngi, Mookaswan, Nonglatem shine in WJDSA football

Jowai, Sep 4: The West Jaiñtia District Sports Association (WJDSA) hosted a series of football encounters on Thursday at Kiang Nangbah Stadium, Dongmihsngi, as part of the ongoing 2nd Division and 3rd Division Football 2025 competitions.
In the 3rd Division, Mookaswan Dongwah SC edged past Mooknor Nangbah SC 1-0, thanks to a decisive strike by Teimi o Ryngkhlem in the 68th minute. The second fixture of the day saw Da-i hi Mynsngat and Lumpariat share the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Banker Muksor put Da-i hi Mynsngat ahead in the 34th minute before Hababiang Syngkon levelled the score for Lumpariat early in the second half. SCSC Nonglatem then claimed a 2-1 victory over Sohmynting Dongneiñ, with goals from Budlang Mukhim (26th) and Kynsai Bhoi (55th), while Chemi Lyngdoh netted for Sohmynting in the 31st minute.In the 2nd Division clash, Dongmihsngi registered a comfortable 2-0 win over Mupliang. Lalrin Kima Nangpui opened the scoring in the 61st minute, and August Surong sealed the result with an injury-time strike in the 82nd minute.
The matches witnessed spirited performances from all sides, with the tournament continuing to provide a platform for emerging football talent in West Jaiñtia Hills.
