SHILLONG: The Election Department has sought a report from the presiding officer on the issue of alleged dubious voting that took place during Wednesday’s polling in a Shillong centre

One Nandini Devi, from Malki-Nongthymmai Assembly constituency, could not cast her vote at the polling station at Kelian Public School as someone else had already cast her vote.

“We have sought a report and the reason may be that the name was wrongly marked as voted,” Chief Electoral officer P Naik told reporters on Thursday.
