SHILLONG, Sep 18: Newly elected Health Minister Wailadmiki Shylla has urged the residents of Meghalaya to adopt a healthy lifestyle and make wellness a priority.
The health minister made the appeal while addressing the State Level Arogya Fair 2025 here on Thursday.
The fair was organised by the Health department in collaboration with AYUSH Ministry and the National AYUSH Mission, Meghalaya, under the theme ‘Prevent, Promote & Preserve–The AYUSH Approach’.
The event aimed to promote AYUSH treatment and extend necessary support to traditional systems of medicine.
Stating that health is the foundation of every society, Shylla said that a strong and prosperous state can only be built on the pillars of physical, mental and social well-being of its people.
The health minister also urged medical experts to continue reaching out to people at the grassroots level and called upon the youths to take an interest in healthy living and preventive care.
Commissioner and Secretary, Health department, Dr. Joram Beda, who was also part of the event, noted that the State Level Arogya Fair is one of the largest events ever organised by the National AYUSH Mission in Meghalaya.
