Over 100 BSF personnel volunteer to donate blood

SHILLONG, Sep 24: More than 100 serving personnel of BSF including senior officers on Wednesday volunteered to donate their blood during a blood donation camp organised by BSF Composite Hospital (CH) Shillong and BSF Frontier HQ Meghalaya in collaboration with Blood Bank Department of NEIGRIHMS to mark Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan and National Voluntary Blood Donation Day.
The camp, headed by Dr Lutika N Lyngdoh, Senior Medical Officer, along with her team, was inaugurated by Inspector General, Frontier HQ BSF, Shillong, Om Prakash Upadhyay, in the presence of DIG (PSO), FTR HQ Meghalaya, Ratan Lal Bagaria, DIG (Med)/MS, CH BSF Shillong, Dr RC Bishariya, and other senior BSF officers.
DIG (Med) Bishariya welcomed the chief guest and delivered the introductory talk which was followed by a motivational speech by IG Upadhyay addressed to the BSF volunteers gathered for blood donation. Dr Lutika N Lyngdoh administered the oath to BSF officials for blood donation and to spread awareness on the blood donation in the society.
Among the volunteers were officers from Ftr HQ Meghalaya Rajiv Kumar, Commandant, Satya Dev Yadav, LO Gde-II/DC, Deepak Bamoriya, DC (Comn), Harsh Goyal, DC (AIA), Sandeep Singh Jamwal, AC (Law) and from CH BSF Meghalaya Dr Manish Kumar Singh, Comdt/CMO(SG), and DR Sunil Kumar, 2IC/CMO along with subordinate officers. Serving female staff of BSF also volunteered for blood donation as a moral gesture towards the society for saving the lives of citizens.
