City college holds debate on AI’s impact on education

SHILLONG, Sep 27: As part of its Diamond Jubilee celebrations, Synod College organised a debate on the motion ‘Artificial Intelligence poses a threat to Education’, drawing enthusiastic participation from students of various colleges.
According to a statement here, the debate was moderated by Dr R Shangpliang. Nyonnyok Talom of St Edmund’s College was adjudged Best Speaker, followed by Shawn Marbaniang of St Anthony’s College and Swarjam Barkotoky of St Edmund’s College. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes and certificates, chaired by DL Jyrwa.
“The debate promoted critical discussion on AI’s impact on education, highlighting Synod College’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence,” the statement said.
