Deadline for CMSS
extended
The state government has extended the deadline for applications to the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (CMSS), 2025, to October 31, following an overwhelming response from students across the state.
Education Department Commissioner and Secretary Vijay Kumar Mantri, in a statement on Tuesday, said the response to the scheme has been unprecedented.
In just one month since its launch, the CMSS portal has received over 50,000 applications from students across various districts of Meghalaya, highlighting both the popularity of the scheme and its role in supporting the higher education aspirations of the youth.
Mantri urged all eligible students, from Class XI up to Ph.D. level, studying in recognised institutions within and outside the state, to take advantage of this opportunity and submit their applications through the official Meghalaya One portal before the deadline.
He further clarified that students applying for CMSS will continue to be eligible for the Post-Matric ST Scholarship as well as other Central or State scholarship schemes. This assurance is aimed at reassuring students and parents that participation in CMSS will not affect their eligibility for other benefits.
