CAU-KVK South Garo Hills joins national conclave

BAGHMARA, Oct 6: The CAU-KVK South Garo Hills participated in a live telecast of the National Conclave on “Weaving India Together: Natural Fibres, Innovation and Livelihoods from North East and Beyond” on Monday afternoon.
The event was organised by the College of Community Science (CCS), Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, in collaboration with the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India; ICAR, New Delhi; Deendayal Research Institute, New Delhi; and the Government of Meghalaya.
The three-day conclave is being held from October 6 to 8, 2025, at the Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam Auditorium, NASC, New Delhi.
The programme was graced by Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju as the Chief Guest. Dr Rajbir Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension), ICAR, and Atul Jain, Vice Chairman, Deendayal Research Institute, New Delhi, attended the event as Guests of Honour.
Dr Mridula Thakur Pradhan, Chairperson of Vikas Foundation Trust, attended the programme as the patron of the event.
The conclave was presided over by Dr Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor of CAU, Imphal, and convened by Dr Jyoti V. Vastrad, Dean, College of Community Science, Tura.
