2nd Meghalaya Police Battalion constable arrested for torturing daughter

Tura, Oct 15: A constable of the 2nd Meghalaya Police Battalion, Joshua G Momin has been arrested on charges of causing grievous injury to his daughter at his residential quarter at Goeragre near here on October 14.

The arrest has been made on the basis of an FIR filed with Tura Women Police Station against the battalion constable where in it was alleged that the policeman threw hot water on his daughter causing severe burn injuries and she had to be hospitalized.

It was alleged that the battalion constable had subjected his daughter to repeated mental and physical torture in the past too. He was arrested on Tuesday.
