Blockade affects train services in Dharmanagar-Agartala section

GUWAHATI, Oct. 23: Train services have been affected from Thursday morning by a blockade staged by picketers on railway tracks at various locations in the Dharmanagar-Agartala section of Tripura.

As a result of the blockade, trains commencing journey on Thursday have been cancelled, short terminated or controlled.

Passenger train number 55676 (Dharmanagar-Agartala) had to be short terminated at Ambassa and remain cancelled between Ambassa and Agartala. Train number 15664 (Silchar-Agartala) Express has been short terminated at Karimganj and will remain cancelled between Karimganj and Agartala.

“Train number 15663 (Agartala-Silchar) Express will be short originated from Karimganj and remain cancelled between Agartala and Karimganj,” a statement issued by NFR, said.

“Four trains – number 75684 (Agartala – Sabroom) diesel multiple unit (DMU); train number 75683 (Sabroom – Agartala) DMU; train number 75679 (Agartala – Karimganj) DMU and train number 75680 (Karimganj – Agartala) DMU will remain cancelled,” the statement said.

On the other hand, train number 07030 (Charlapalli-Agartala) Special, which commenced journey on October 20, 2025 is being controlled at Dharmanagar.

Train number 13174 (Sabroom – Sealdah) Kanchanjungha Express and train number 12520 (Agartala – Lokmanya Tilak-T) SF Express, commencing journey on October 23, 2025, have been controlled at Agartala and Jirania respectively.
