SHILLONG: The bowlers of BK Bajoria School tore through the batting line-up of Arya Kanya Vidyalaya, ensuring that the former notched up a comprehensive 90-run victory in an Inter School Cricket Tournament match, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Tuesday.

In the other game, All Saints School defeated Jail Road Boys by seven wickets.

The Bajoria batsmen did some good work in the first innings after being put in to bat first.

Ram Nakshatra Chauhan’s 44 from 42 deliveries helped his team post a total of 142/7 in 21 overs.

Vishal Balmiki took 2-27 in five overs.

Arya Kanya were incapable of mounting a serious challenge in the chase, bowled out for a measly 52 runs in 15.2 overs with Siddhart Kumar’s figures of 3-7 in 2.4 overs evidence of the poor batting.

In the second match of the day, Jail Road Boys won the toss and chose to bat first.

They fell just short of a hundred runs, all out for 97 in 20.4 overs. Vicky Sunar top-scored for them with 27 runs, while Prasanjeet Paul bagged 3-19 in three overs.

In reply, All Saints reached the target for the loss of three wickets in 11.5 overs.

Abhishek Ghosh played a whirlwind knock, scoring 36 runs from just 16 balls. Bijoy Paul took 2-12 in three overs for the losers.
