SHILLONG, Oct 28: Despite the Integrated Excise Management System (IEMS) Scheme not yet being officially notified, new prices have already been issued by manufacturers.
This was informed to the High Court of Meghalaya by the East Khasi Hills Wine Dealers on Monday.
Counsel for the petitioners, RB Phookan, submitted before the High Court that the new prices issued by manufacturers have factored in a five per cent cost under the yet-to-be-notified scheme.
As a result, retailers have been compelled to sell their stock at revised rates.
In this regard, the High Court directed the counsel to place the submission on affidavit and also permitted the petitioners to file any additional materials necessary for the adjudication of the matter.
