Liquor seized
The Office of the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner (Excise) conducted raids in restaurants/stalls in Shillong and its outskirts in August and September. Following the raids, 97 litres of illicitly distilled liquor and 46.48 litres of IMFL were seized. A total of 11 cases were detected and six persons were arrested in this connection.
Unity March
The Deputy Director and District Youth Officer in charge of Mera Yuva Bharat, Ri-Bhoi, has informed that the Sardar @150 Unity March will be held at 11 am on November 10. According to a statement, the march, which will be flagged off by MLAs AL Hek and Mayralborn Syiem, will commence from the Indoor Stadium, Umlyngkdait, and culminate at Ri-Bhoi College. Registration for the Unity March and other related activities is being conducted through the My Bharat Portal at https://mybharat.gov.in/megaevents.
