SHILLONG, Nov 5: Following reports in some national media outlets about an alleged dispute among the top leadership of the NPP, Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar has dismissed such claims, asserting that the party leaders remain united.
“Myself, Conrad Sangma and Prestone Tynsong are united. The question of a dispute among us is next to impossible,” Dhar said, responding to reports suggesting a cold war between the three senior leaders of the party.
When asked about discontent within the party following the recent dropping of some Cabinet Ministers, Dhar termed it as a “family matter.”
He also stated that he would ask those sections of the media to apologise for their claims about internal rifts, adding that the NPP leadership continues to function as “one big, happy family.”
Dhar further expressed optimism that the party would break all records in the 2028 Assembly elections by emerging as the single majority party.

Meanwhile, NPP state working president Hamleston Dohling on Wednesday clarified that there is no division within the party ranks, while dismissing the claims as baseless and the creation of vested interests aiming to weaken the party.
“As the working president, I can confidently say that there is no rift among the party’s top brass. We are united and working together as a team,” he asserted.
Dohling said the NPP remains focused on strengthening its organisation and ensuring good governance. “Our efforts are directed towards providing better governance and achieving all-round development for the state,” he added.
Reacting to reports in a section of the media, the NPP leader said such rumours will only inspire the party leadership, members, and workers to work harder to consolidate and unite the organisation.
“Our party is intact, and these unfounded stories will only motivate us to strengthen the NPP even further,” Dohling said.
