London, Nov 8: West Ham United staged a spirited comeback to secure a vital 3–2 victory over Burnley in their Premier League relegation clash at the London Stadium on Saturday, following a dramatic afternoon both on and off the pitch.
The build-up to the match was dominated by fan unrest, as nearly 10,000 Hammers supporters marched through Stratford carrying a coffin and hearse to protest against the club’s ownership and management. Chants calling for chairman David Sullivan and vice-chair Karren Brady to step down echoed through the streets, reflecting growing frustration over the club’s direction, poor recruitment, and perceived loss of identity since moving to the London Stadium.
On the pitch, things initially went from bad to worse for the home side when Burnley striker Zian Flemming headed in Lesley Ugochukwu’s cross midway through the first half.
