SHILLONG: Ambassador of Czech Republic to India, Miloslav Stasek on Monday met Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and Government officials and discussed at length various issues where Czech Republic and the State Government can collaborate.

Acting Chief Secretary Barkos Warjri later informed that the Czech Republic is looking to collaborate with the State Government in areas of agriculture and power. According to Warjri, Government is keen on examining the details of the proposals of the Czech Republic “since Government finds it possible to collaborate with them on areas like agriculture and power.”

The meeting also discussed various technologies applicable to industries such as food processing, food storage, biomass gas for thermal project and use of solar power in the State.

Czech Republic is keen to set up joint ventures in agro-based industrial sectors in northeast India and is also willing to extend technical support to develop the segment
