CM inaugurates CFI centre at Umroi, eyes overseas jobs for M’laya youths

SHILLONG, Nov 22: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Saturday inaugurated the Care For India (CFI) Centre at Nonglum, Umroi, in Ri-Bhoi district.
The new retreat centre is envisioned as a space to unwind, reflect and reconnect.
Noting that the CFI, through its nursing college, is providing quality education to the youths of Meghalaya and the Northeast, the chief minister said that the government is looking forward to partnering with them to introduce foreign language training within the institute.
The chief minister said this initiative is aimed at enabling young people to explore overseas employment opportunities and support their families.
He further remarked that nursing and healthcare services continue to create meaningful avenues for the youths and will bring manifold benefits to the region.
