SHILLONG: The Modi Fan Club in the State has asked Chief Minister Mukul Sangma to learn from Gujarat on how that state enjoys uninterrupted power supply.

Sangma, a known critic of BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, was criticized by the Modi Fan Club for his inability to ensure regular power supply in Meghalaya.

“The Chief Minister should send a high level team to Modi’s Gujarat to learn how uninterrupted power supply is provided to every village of that state,” the Modi Fan Club said.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Dondor Singh Rumnong, president of Modi Fan Club, while expressing concern over the ongoing power crisis in the State, demanded the immediate resignation of State Power Minister Clement Marak.

The Modi Fan Club also said that that due to the policy paralysis of the State Government, the people of the State are reeling under acute power shortage.

The Club also urged the Government to adopt austerity measures to clear the pending dues of power companies like NEEPCO.
