SHILLONG, Nov 28: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma will release the second and final instalment of the CM Post-Matric Scholarship on Saturday, completing the disbursement for the 2024–25 academic year.
The official launch programme is scheduled to take place at the District Auditorium in Tura, with Sangma attending as the chief guest and Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui as the guest of honour.
The scholarship is being disbursed under the Umbrella Post-Matric Scholarship, and the Chief Minister has stated that the amounts will appear in students’ bank accounts within two to three working days following the release.
He reiterated that the government has taken special measures to ensure that the full scholarship amount reaches beneficiaries ahead of the Christmas season, in line with the assurance he had given earlier.
In an update shared on social media, Sangma described the upcoming release as “good news for the student community”. He also mentioned that more than 70,000 students will receive the scholarship in the second and final phase. The total amount to be disbursed now stands at nearly Rs 130 crore.
The release of the final instalment is expected to provide timely support to students pursuing post-matric studies, offering financial assistance ahead of the next academic session.
