SHILLONG, Dec 4: December 3 was a red letter day for the Goenka family as the 90 –year-old Shankarlal Goenka celebrated his birthday and also launched the much-anticipated Kelvin Gold Cinema at SCRB Road Guwahati.
Speaking on the occasion, an emotionally charged Shankarlal Goenka said the Kelvin Cinema at Guwahati had gone through many ups and downs and was closed down as it did not become viable as a cinema hall at a time when video piracy was at its height. Thankfully, now it is no longer easy to pirate full-fledged movies
The grand launch of this brand-new two-screen multiplex in the heart of Guwahati, offering a total seating capacity of 499, including 24 ultra-luxurious recliners is a rare achievement. With a sleek, futuristic design and auditoriums equipped with the latest technology, the cinema promises a fresh and immersive ambience with every visit.
