SHILLONG, Jan 11: Curtain came down on the three-day annual conference of Rotary International District 3240 at Lariti, Mawkasiang, with around 1,200 delegates reinvigorating themselves to the ideals of service.
Rotary District Governor Dr KS Elangbam declared the conference’s closure on Sunday after delegates had the opportunity to listen to a galaxy of guest speakers who lauded the spirit of Rotary’s humanitarian service globally during its 121 years of existence.
The highlight of the concluding day was a mesmerising talk by celebrated scientist and author, Dr Anand Ranganathan.
The delegates were also treated to a panorama of local tribal dances and music.
