Tura, Jan 12: Condemnation against the mob killing of ACHIK member, Dilseng M Sangma at Rajabala, continues on Monday with South Garo Hills resident and social worker, Digross D Shira as well as the ADE, Apex Committee issuing separate statements on the day.
Social worker Digross D Shira termed the incident a pre-planned act by illegal immigrants from Bangladesh to see how hard or easy it is to occupy it as ‘Miyaland’ or to annex Indian territory by illegal migrants from Bangladesh, starting from the Garo Hills region and the entire seven sister states of Northeast India.
“Now, my question is, where do they get the courage to kill our tribal Garo indigenous people in Garo Hills in broad daylight? It is all because of the support of Bangladeshi and Pakistani jihadists. The people of Garo Hills and the entire Northeast should be aware of that,” Shira said.
Shira also thanked Assam legislature Dr. Numal Momin, for his statement to make the people of Garo Hills aware of the situation, while at the same time, urging Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, to check Bangladeshi immigrants in Garo Hills and to follow the Assam model being implemented to safeguard the protection of indigenous people of Assam.
Shira also called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, to take necessary action to protect the borders of Meghalaya as well as Northeast India. He also offered his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Pa Dilseng M Sangma.
Meanwhile, the ADE on the same day also issued statement condemning the incident as well as offering condolences to the deceased victim’s family.
The association also demanded the conduct of a thorough, impartial and time bound investigation and the arrest and prosecution of all those involved with the harshest punishment as per law.
