The first day of Lollapalooza India 2026 at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse delivered electrifying performances as hip-hop sensation Playboi Carti and British punk-rock artist Yungblud dominated the stage, captivating tens of thousands of fans.
Carti, joined by members of his Opium collective—Destroy Lonely and Homixide Gang—performed hits including FE!N, Pop Out, Timeless, and If Looks Could Kill.
He energized the crowd, urging fans to dance and move along with him.
In his Indian debut, Yungblud impressed the audience with tracks like Zombie and Hello Heaven, bringing an emotional moment to the festival.
He paid tribute to his late mentor, Ozzy Osbourne, and closed his set with Changes, visibly moved, leaving the audience deeply touched.
He even pulled a fan onstage to play guitar, adding an interactive thrill.
The festival showcased a diverse range of artists beyond the headliners. Japanese singer-songwriter Fujii Kaze delivered a poignant performance of Shinunoga E-Wa, while electronic artist Knock2 energized the crowd with festival edits of Dashstar.
Canadian indie rockers Mother Mother led sing-alongs with Hayloft.
Indian talents also shone: Ankur Tewari and The Ghalat Family performed Gehraiyaan, and Bangalore folk-rock group Gauley Bhai enchanted listeners with Sanglanga Dooby.
Fans are eagerly anticipating Sunday’s highlight: Linkin Park’s two-hour concert from 7:55 PM to 9:55 PM.
The festival is co-produced in India by BookMyShow Live, along with global producers Perry Farrell and C3 Presents, promising a continuation of high-energy performances and memorable experiences.
